Our rankings are editorial opinion, formed by applying a published scoring model to data reported by federal agencies and by the institutions themselves. The factors and weights, and the things we deliberately refuse to score, are set out on our methodology page. Programs we cannot price, or that report no completions, are excluded from ranking rather than ranked poorly, and their exclusion is not a judgement about them.

Federal data is published on a lag, so our figures reflect the most recent release available when the page was last updated rather than the current academic year. A ranking is a starting point for your own research, not a substitute for it.
